Summer Grilling Savings – Watch your propone refills

Save money on propone.I love to cook on our grill. We use it throughout most of the year with the exception of the very cold winter months. During the hot summer months our grill is a godsend as we don’t have central air conditioning and it is just too hot to cook indoors sometimes.

One of predictable things about using my gas grill is that I AM going to run out of propane during the preparation of a big meal, and it is always way before the food is done. When it is time to refill your tank you may want to be more vigilant and do your homework before your next fill up. Propane tanks hold 20lbs of propane, but with the increased price increase many exchange companies have tried to get around this increase by only filling exchange tanks with 15lbs of propane and charging your the same price as they used to for 20lbs. The cages where the replacements are say 15lbs, but really who is paying attention to that. We assume we are still getting the same amount as we always did, but you may not be.

2009 Entertainment book for $4.99

Reserve your 2010 Entertainment book and get a Free 2009 Entertainment Book ($4.99 postage)! Offer valid through June 2009!

I have done this in the past and have been able to cancel the next years book without them charging me the extra $5.00 cancellation fee.

We use these books all the time to save money. They have been getting skimpier each year, but for $4.99 it is well worth it.

Menu Monday – June 8

Only two more weeks of night class. I will be so glad to be done and get back to normal dinner weeks. Basically everyone will be gone for dinner this week so I am going to try to cook ahead and have some individual containers on hand for quick dinners.

Monday – SOS (creamed beef) with toast — I have class and hate this stuff. It is a favorite of hubbies.

Tuesday – Beef Pot Roast, gravy, mashed potatoes. Mom is cooking and this will probably be the only dinner we all have together.

Wednesday – Chicken Sausage and Rice Paella – I am in class, hubby can reheat it.

Thursday – Something with Chicken cooked in the crock pot. Haven’t figured this one out yet. I am leaning towards a white bean and chicken chili.

Friday – leftover pot roast sandwiches with home made, baked french fries and gravy.

Saturday – Grilled Tuna with roasted vegetables and salad greens from the garden.

Sunday – BBQ Chicken halves on the Grill, corn and baked beans.
